An application program that allows a user to create or
edit ASCII (text) files. Commonly used to create or edit
batch and html files.a
EGA:
Enhanced Graphic Adapter. A video display device
that enables a computer to process and display text and
images on an EGA-compatible monitor. The maximum resolution
is 640 X 480 at 16 colours. Since it was backward
compatible, an EGA video card was able to run most software
that used CGA video.
EXE:
Executable File. A file extension that denotes a
program file.
Expansion Slots:
Card connectors in a computer that hold circuit boards
which can expand or upgrade the capabliities of a computer.
Extension:
The last three or four characters of a filename, after
the dot. They denote what type the file is (i.e. COM, EXE,
BAT).
